Strategy #1: Keep your home and your work desk organised
You spend most time developing your passive income from home after work. Hence, having a messy home and work desk will make you lose time when you have to search for a missing item every now and then. It dampens your working mood and creativity. To be efficient, you not only need to keep them clean and tidy, but also make sure they are organised so that you can find your items at ease when you need them.

Strategy #2: Compound your activities
Do you listen to music while driving or while doing gym? If yes, why don’t try to learn something about passive income and business instead at the same time? How? Listen to motivational and inspiring podcasts on your MP3 that will teach you about business and passive income. They are easily available on the internet! You can also read a motivational business book while on public transport or even in queue. Be industrious!

Strategy #3: Spend less time on TVs
If the first thing you do when you come home from work is to switch on your TV and then stick to it throughout the night, you are watching too much of it. Cut down on your TV consumption. Use the free time to work on your passive income. Read and learn about it from the internet or books.

Strategy #4: Use time management tool
There are several time management tools out there. One of the techniques is by listing down your tasks according to their priority and urgency. Work on those which are marked as most important and most urgent first, and the least important and least urgent tasks last. Cross them out once you have completed them to have a general idea on your progress. Besides a ‘today’ list, you can also work on a ‘this week’ list or a ‘this month’ list.

First, generate ideas. You need to set your mind to actively churn out ideas while you are doing other things. Always carry a notepad and pen with you so that you can keep a log of all your inspirations and ideas. Commit yourself to come out with at least one idea per day. You may start by thinking around your areas of interest.

Second, try it. Once you have generated several ideas, start trying them out in order to see whether they are workable, including those that might sound absurd. For example, if you can draw well and want to earn money by selling your cartoons online, start drawing it to see how it works!! If you don’t try them on, your ideas will gather dust and you will forget and lose your initial passion about it.

Third, shortlist ideas. Select few that you think are the most workable and you are more likely to be able to commit. Do take your financial status into consideration as some passive incomes require a capital to start and maintain (e.g. sale of products online, property investment) while others require low or no start-up capital (e.g. sale of services and e-books online).

Fourth, plan it. With a shortlisted idea, plan how you want to develop your income stream. Find out other people doing the similar thing and how they are doing it. Give it a go, even if it does not work well from the beginning. If it does not work out, at least you have tried and now you can move on to your other ideas.

Fifth, save money. While your passive income might not necessarily need a large capital it is best that you save some money from the beginning. This allows you to see the outcome of your active actions on your passive income and allows more flexibility in growing your income stream later on. Once your first passive income has become steady, use this fund to work on the second one, and then third one!

Before long, you will have multiple passive income streams which are flowing steadily and making you financially independent!

Commission Junction (CJ) is another popular site that has many affiliate marketing offers from which to choose. The merchants that put their products and services on Commission Junction tend to be bigger and more established companies who are experienced in product development, marketing, and promotion. CJ also offers many types of promotional links for its affiliates. So, you can promote the products and services that you choose with banners, text links, product links, and search boxes.

Amazon was one of the founders of the affiliate movement and it is a noteworthy affiliate network to join if you want to sell products from your site or blog. While the commissions with Amazon are generally lower, it is extremely easy to get set up with promoting products on your blog or website, and it is much easier to make sales with these products. And you can even choose to set up what is known as an Amazon aStore. Another handy feature of Amazon is that it offers context link ads and Widgets.

If you want to take your analysis a step further, you can take a look at Sitesell. This site allows you to search for the type of product or service you would like to promote and then gives you a list of all of the platforms that offer these products and services. Sitesell offers both CPA and affiliate network offers and it is completely free for affiliates and publishers alike which makes it accessible to everyone — even the newcomers to the affiliate marketing game. This site can save you lots of time in searching for the right product or service to promote and comparing various products/services and networks. Are you an Internet Marketing Apprentice? Whether new or experienced, there are some tips of the trade that you should follow.

First of all, the lure of working from home in your pajamas with nothing but a computer is almost too much to bear. In fact, more and more people are trying their hand at affiliate marketing exactly for this reason. But in order to be successful in your efforts, you do need to spend time and at least a little bit of money. It is hard work, so be prepared.

If you are an Internet marketing apprentice, start out promoting something that you are familiar with and, even better, something that interests you. And the best of these types of sites actually make the promoted product or service seem like an afterthought. This is another reason that it is easier if you are new to affiliate marketing to start with something you are familiar with and/or interested in. While content is important, your main goal is to drive visitors to the sales of your affiliate products, so make it as easy as possible for them to get there.

Do not give up. There is a lot to learn when it comes to affiliate marketing and it takes a lot of work in the beginning. It’s also important to keep up with rules and regulations that change in the field of affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing revenue can end up being passive (meaning you don’t have to do anything to earn it), but it takes a while to get to this point. Most people will take months even to make enough money to cover costs. Keeping these tips in mind when you are an internet marketing apprentice will help you in achieving a profitable status.

Have affiliate products that fit in with your target audience. Choosing programs that offers products that might not interest people means no commission or money for you. If you join a program that offers products that are “hot” you will be competing with thousands of others who are promoting the same product. Choose a niche you KNOW information about! Check the profitability of that niche.

4, Generalized Marketing: Focus on Niche Marketing: Focus on a tiny niche, the tinier and narrower that niche is, the better. Try improving on a single key aspect of your business at a time. Putting your efforts in one of two ways will help you achieve your affiliate program goals. Try getting people to join your list. Then keep in touch with them by sending out valuable info.

5, Organic Traffic Only: Another mistake most affiliates makes is the idea of generating only organic traffic. This form of traffic that is naturally generated by a website, is a myth. There is no such thing! Organic traffic is the one that is created by the website naturally. This concept is nothing but a fairy tale story and this is not a reality.

6, Link Exposure: Hiding your affiliate link on your website is crucial nowadays. Most affiliate marketers still make the mistake of making there links visible. The truth is that internet users have become more sophisticated and the honest truth is that most web users won’t click on an affiliate link or anything that looks like it. You’ve got to learn how to hide your affiliate links to ensure click through’s. Also, stories of people’s affiliate links being changed to divert traffic has happened and is still happening.

On average lately, I earn about $6500 a month in affiliate income. Not bad, since affiliate marketing is not the core of my business. But real super-affiliates earn six figures a month. Today I'll tell you how.

It's a basic equation really... the more targeted traffic you can send to a top performing affiliate offer, the more money you can make. Even if you have to pay for that traffic.

Now you may be wondering if it's so simple, why don't I do this and become a genuine super-affiliate?

Well, for one thing there's the time factor. It takes time to constantly test new offers in all kinds of niches, build landing pages and drive traffic.

I prefer to stick to one niche, and help people one-on-one, like I do in my coaching program. While I don't make six figures a month doing that, it is less time consuming and leaves me lots of time to do other things I enjoy in life.

But perhaps the real reason I'm not out there buying traffic is because I have the luxury of a following that I've built up over the years.

For some odd reason, people keep reading my newsletters and emails, and it keeps me from having to buy traffic. Which is great, since I'm sort of a cheapskate.

That said, I also understand that most newcomers to online business do NOT have that luxury, and growing a following takes time. Buying traffic is the best way to get a quick start.

But before you can hit that lofty goal, you need to work your way through the learning curve.

Learning curve?

Yes. This is not for the faint of heart. You see, there are literally thousands of products and services available for affiliate marketers to promote.

Selecting the right programs can be hit or miss.

While there are some research techniques you can use to pre-qualify products, it is far from an exact science.

The best places to find lucrative affiliate offers is at affiliate networks. While there are lots of networks to choose from, most super-affiliates stick to one of these four networks:

Commission Junction
ClickBank

A quick browse through those sites will give you an idea of just how big affiliate marketing has become. Super-affiliates have an almost limitless supply of offers to choose from.

And selecting the programs you want to promote is just the beginning.

Next, you need traffic.

Remember what I wrote earlier? To get to super-affiliate status you'll need a TON of traffic. The top tier of super-affiliates shell out big bucks for this traffic. (Most of them started small though, and you can too.)

Currently, the place way to buy traffic to send to your affiliate offers is at Google's Adwords program. But what many experts don't tell you is that Adwords is a pay-per-click beast that can be tricky to tame.

I could write volumes on the ins and outs of Adwords. Sure, it's easy to sign up and get started, but ramping up to huge traffic is a whole other ballgame.

You need perseverance, cunning and oh yes, some capital to start with. Sure, you can start with $50 or so, but the more you can lay out in the beginning, the faster you can build your super-affiliate status. (But don't go too fast or it will eat you alive and max out your credit cards in a hurry.)

Unless you know what you're doing, you may not have any sales to show for your newly purchased traffic.

I never could have done it with my own efforts alone. And that is what viral is all about -- getting exposure that grows seemingly by itself.

Some viral campaigns like mine are relatively small, others grow to a massive scale. But make no mistake, they are powerful and have the power to change lives when done skillfully.

So what makes for an effective viral campaign?

As I mentioned at the onset of this issue, many people think the best viral marketing campaigns consist of a quirky youtube video that spreads like wildfire. But that's just one example of a viral marketing strategy. And if you've ever tried that method, you probably discovered there's no guarantee of success with that strategy.

So exactly what is the real key to going viral, they key that practically guarantees success?

The answer to that question is at the very heart of viral marketing itself, yet nobody seems to talk about it.

I call it the WIIFM factor.

So what in the world is this WIIFM?

WIIFM stands for What's In It For Me.

(I came up with that acronym while writing this issue, or at least I thought so. A quick check of the web shows that someone already beat me to it.)

When you apply the WIIFM tactic to viral marketing you simply "reward people for sharing your content."

After all, the act of spreading something these days is easier than ever. A few clicks of a mouse or taps of a smart phone and people can share just about anything via email, facebook, myspace, youtube, etc., etc.

But you have to make it worth their while.

In my example above, I did it by rewarding them with cash. You don't have to use money, but you do have to reward them somehow.

Some other rewards that work great for viral marketing include...

- a free product or service

- a great discount on something they want

- free website traffic

- that feeling they get from being the person to share something really cool with their friends

Think about it for a minute. Just about every great viral marketing campaign you know of probably got great because of the WIIFM factor. It's something you can't ignore if you want success with viral marketing.

So Why Is Viral Marketing So Difficult To Implement?

Millions have tried going viral with their ideas or businesses but have failed. So why is it so difficult?

Simple. It's really hard to create something so cool that thousands of people will want to share it with their friends.

I mean creating a quirky video or creative service for your niche is not an easy task.

That's why most businesses in my opinion are better off PAYING people to spread the word for them.

That means that perhaps the easiest way to start your own viral marketing campaign is by starting your own affiliate program. (Yes, affiliate programs do qualify as viral marketing in my opinion.)

If you already have an affiliate program, you can add some modern viral components to it, such as this new viral content spreader my old friend Yanik Silver is using. (A month or so of using that might shed a whole new light on viral marketing.)

Unfortunately, if you have no product or service of your own you can't take advantage of having your own affiliate program.

But you can you use viral marketing to earn money from other people's products and services. Many affiliate marketers rely on viral marketing to drive traffic to their affiliate URL's.

One way to do this is with free software or ebooks that include giveaway rights. As people pass along your software product or ebook to others in your niche, you get more and more traffic to your affiliate sites.

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of new technology to help affiliates and other people without their own products and services, take advantage of viral marketing.

In fact, here's a site that's launching next week that lets the average person take advantage of viral marketing. No website, product or list required. While I'm not a big fan of "get rich" type intros like you see there, I've test driven the site and can vouch for it's simplicity, and its potential. (As you'll see they have a heavy WIIFM factor that will undoubtedly explode their traffic.)

And you'll be seeing lots more site like that pop up over the coming months and years. Because viral marketing works.

In closing...

If you want to earn money online, you need to become comfortable with the idea of viral marketing. There are lots of ways to plug viral strategies into your business, so be on the lookout for them and be willing to try new techniques when they present themselves!

With 1/3 of the new year gone, lots of people are stepping up their efforts to generate some kind of income from the web.

What most people don't realize is that you don't need to start a full-fledged business to earn money. You can get started with something in your spare time. Who knows what it might turn into. I did just that and haven't needed a job in 15 years!

Today's gazette will outline the steps I took, and the steps you need to take to start making some real money.

Step 1: Forget "business opportunities" and identify your niche!

Too many people get caught up chasing business opportunities online. Unfortunately, most of them are just dead ends. Instead of chasing get rich quick schemes, try the method that has the highest success rate...

Sit down and take a hard look at your own interests, abilities, knowledge and experiences. Anything from these may be a potentially good niche for you to enter. If you think you might enjoy helping others with the topic, then there may be a way to make money in the process.

Once you have an idea for a niche, run it through these potential niche 'filters':

Filter A: Is there a problem that people in this niche cannot solve themselves? For example, 'how to stop slicing your tee shots' is a problem for many golfers, especially people new to the sport. Also consider that the more urgent the problem, the better. For example 'how to save your marriage when on the brink of divorce' is a category that sells very well online.

Filter B: Is there an 'evergreen' need in this niche that is not just a fad? 'How to improve your golf swing' is an evergreen need compared to 'strategies for Halo 3' (a video game). Once the fad for Halo 3 is over, the market in this niche dries up. You want to position yourself for long term viability, so steer clear of fads if at all possible.

Step 2: Figure out what you will sell.

You will need to sell something if you want to make money, but don't worry, there are lots of options. You can create your own product such as an info-product, you can find existing products in your niche and sell them as an affiliate, and you can even even buy the rights to a product.

Of course, the best choice is your own product since it will be unique and you can keep 100% of the profits from each sale.

A few products you can create yourself include an ebook, a special report, and a private member-only site. I've done all three of those and can vouch for their profitability online. Or consider using the latest technology to create your own software titles or videos. You may be surprised at how easy this has become.

Step 3: Put up a website or blog offering a free gift.

A professional looking website or blog on your own domain name tells potential customers you're serious about business.

As for the site itself, you can create it with an easy to use increasingly popular web design program.

If you prefer a blog, take a look at this instant blog site tool now being used by lots of aspiring entrepreneurs.

As far as the site itself, the key component is this... a gift!

You absolutely must give something irresistible away at your site. Giving away a simple special report packed with must-have secrets about your niche, will grow your list of leads for you. Use a professional service that captures your leads for you and follows up with them automatically. Aweber is one of the most used and respected services.

Oh, and as far as taking payments for your products and services, you can do it with a merchant account of your own, or use a service like 2Checkout or Paypal.

Step 4: Establish relationships one at a time (but on auto-pilot).

Establishing relationships starts with your list members, through a series of automated follow-up emails. Remember, the email series you put into place is NOT merely to shove offer after offer down their throats -- your messages should offer real tips and content that truly helps your subscribers. Ask them to reply. Offer more help. This builds relationships!

Next start establishing relationships with other businesses in your niche by linking to them in a flattering manner, and recommending their products. This will get you "into the loop" and eventually, your new relationships will earn you more money than you can imagine.

Step 5: Start establishing credibility in your niche.

You know that ebook or special report you made to give away at your site? Why not put a give away license inside it so others can sell or give it away. This will spread your name far and wide. Just be sure your website address is on the footer of every page in the report.

Next, write an article or do a video every week or so that shares useful information about your niche. Try to answer a few of the most pressing questions that people in your niche ask. Then publish an ezine (email newsletter) every week or two, that includes your best recent article.

(When creating ebooks and writing articles, try to go a little 'deep' into your niche. In other words, if your niche is arts and crafts, don't write about the entire subject of arts and crafts -- instead, focus on one popular arts and crafts project at a time. If your niche is Internet marketing, work with sub-niches such as email marketing or back-end selling.)

Yet another way to quickly establish credibility is to post intelligent comments on related blogs and forums. Be sure to include your name and a link to your site.

Do all of these things regularly and you'll be known far and wide before you know it.

Step 6: Drive traffic to your site or blog.

Use all the free traffic generation strategies available to you, and use them every day. Here's a list of the top strategies available to you at no cost...

A. Submit your site to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN) and to as many other search engines as you can.

B. Write 1-2 articles each week and submit them to the free article directories. Be sure to include a link to your site after each article in your bio box. The articles should be optimized for a keyword your site is targeting. Be sure to submit those same articles to email newsletter publishers in your niche.

C. Find blogs related to your topic and leave useful comments with a backlink to your site. Here's a great free tool you can use to find the best targeted blogs where you can leave your backlinks.

D. Answer questions related to your site’s topic at answers.yahoo.com. Be sure to put a link to your site in each of your answers.

E. Join a handful of the most popular forums that deal with your site's topic and become an active poster. Include a link to your site in your signature.

F. Write a press release about your site and submit it to press release sites such as prweb.com or one of these 60 free PR sites. If you are not familiar with press releases, take some time to do a little research: a press release is not written like an article.

G. If you are happy with a product or service you have used, write an unbiased testimonial and give the creator permission to use it at their site.

H. Start a blog on blogger.com and a blog on wordpress.com, link them to your site and submit them to the hundreds of free blog directories. This will get you plenty of quality traffic as long as you keep your blogs updated.

I. Write an interesting email signature that includes a link to your site, and use it with every outgoing business email you send.

J. Get on myspace.com and facebook.com and link your accounts there, to you your site and vice versa.

K. Submit a viral video to youtube.com. You don’t really need any video producing know-how as a simple PowerPoint slideshow with some background music will do the job.

L. Start an affiliate program for your products or services the seek out affiliates regularly by searching your main keywords on Google and contacting the owners of the websites that come up in the top results.

Step 7: Multiply your income sources.

Once you've been at the above steps for a few months, you'll have some credibility and a growing list of prospects. That's when you can introduce your "premier" product or service -- something you can earn a little more money on.

This is also the time to open your marketing up. Start an affiliate program so your subscribers and customers can earn money selling for you. Contact the businesses you've been growing relationships with and form some joint ventures. Cross-sell related products and focus on some residual income products and services. Explore new opportunities in your niche and create opportunity for others.

The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

I realize if you're just starting, this can seem like an overwhelming process, but it really is just a little work each day. Remember, you're not trying to get rich quick, you're building a lasting income source that will go on for years and years.

Use these steps faithfully and you can't help but grow online income. Maybe that's why so many internet marketing gurus say that making money on the Internet is not rocket science. Gurus know that formula inside out and simply plug it in each time they want to start a new income stream.
